Gruyere Popovers

 I happened to pick up gruyere cheese recently simply because it's something I don't see often and had never tried it. It's a really nutty/bitter hard cheese and wasn't sure what to do with it. Then I came across this recipe over at Martha Stewart's website. I had recently acquired a popover tin and hadn't used it yet so I went for it and made these this morning. So good! And only 4 ingredients: flour, milk, eggs, cheese (well, and a pinch of salt).

I halved the recipe and only made 6 instead of 12. Served them cut in half with butter and jam.
